COURSE OVERVIEW
The training is a 3-Days course focusing on fundamental of assessing risk using Bowtie method. Day 1 delivers a thorough overview on the basic understanding of hazard, risk and impact. It will cover on the knowledge of risk and root causes from previous industrial accidents and basic knowledge of accident prevention theory.
Day 2 and Day 3 aims to provide participants with a sound understanding of fundamental concepts of Bowtie including studying the eight (8) elements of Bowtie Risk Management. Besides that, this topic will cover on how it is used in managing risk by incorporating the elements in HSE-MS and PSM. It will details elaborate how Bowtie Risk Analysis technique utilizing the Barrier Based Management technique.
This program will also cover numbers of exercised related to maintenance and operation concepts on Prevention and Recovery measures during the incidents. The hands-on session will be included in order to familiarize participants on how to facilitate the Bowtie Risk Assessment team in the future.
BOWTIE is one of the most recent risk assessment method identified, with concepts on barrier-based management and has been used in industries mostly in developed country such as Defense industry, the French Government, UK Health , Safety and Environment Executive, an Australia State Regulator, the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand, petroleum industry international associations and international standards.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
The objective of this course will provide basic understanding of risk management, and comprehensive review of the methodology of bowtie in risk management that is applicable to every industry. Participant will be provided hands-on exercises related to industrial hazards and risk control in order to achieve the familiarization and in-depth understanding on how Bowtie Risk Management differs from the other risk assessment tools.
